Sarah Palin: Inexperienced and Out of Touch with the Jewish Community?

Palin's policy positions on women's issues out of step with most women:
➢ Palin opposes a woman's right to reproductive choice in ALL circumstances except to save the mother's life (no exceptions for incest, rape)
➢ Palin opposes equal pay for equal work.
➢ Palin opposes increasing protections against gender discrimination in the workplace
➢ Palin opposes the expansion of the SCHIP program to offer health insurance to more poor children

Palin's policy positions are out of step with the Jewish community:
➢ Palin opposes embryonic stem cell research
➢ Palin opposes church-state separation and supports teaching of creationism in public schools
➢ Palin has no knowledge of or history in support of Israel (or what the Bush Doctrine is), whereas Biden has been universally praised for his support of Israel
➢ Palin does not believe that global warming exists and supported unlimited oil drilling with no environmental protections
➢ Palin opposes endangered speices protection for many animals including Polar Bears
➢ Anti-Israel Republican Pat Buchanan claims that Palin's was a supporter of his
➢ Palin's husband was twice a member of the extremist Alaskan Independence Party
➢ Palin’s church (she was present 8/17) had a speaker from Jews for Jesus who blamed the Diaspora on the failure of Jews to accept Jesus. Palin has not condemned the comments.

Sarah Palin’s Limited Government Experience:
Palin served as governor of Alaska for two years (Obama served in the U.S. Senate for 4 years and Biden has served for 30)
➢ As governor, Palin is under investigation for using her state position to fire the Public Safety Commissioner, who refused to fire her ex-brother in law. Her husband and aides are alleged to have pressured government officials to fire the ex-brother in law
➢ Palin's appointed replacement on the Public Safety Commission resigned after six months due to accusations of taking bribes
➢ Palin supported the famous "Bridge to Nowhere" in Alaksa proposed by the indicted Sen. Stevens and sought additional earmarks. Her position on the bridge changed later.
➢ Palin did not have a passport until 2007 and despite running a state next to two foreign countries (Russia, Canada) she has not dealt with any other foreign governments.
Palin served 6 years as mayor of Wisilla (pop. 5,649).
➢ Palin served 2 terms as mayor and one on the city council of Wasilla (Obama served 8 years, or two full terms, in the state senate)
➢ Palin was forced to hand the administration of the Wasilla city government over to a city Finance Director and Deputy Administrator.
➢ While mayor, Palin left the town with a $38 million dollar debt, equivalent to 3x
of the city's annual revenues, including a multi-use sports complex that was in litigation for years.
➢ As mayor, Palin asked the town librarian if she would oppose banning books from the library. The librarian said she was not comfortable with the idea. She was soon thereafter fired for "disloyalty."
