DFI-LA Statement on the April 13/14 Iranian Attack on Israel

Democrats for Israel Los Angeles recognizes and appreciates the strong support of President Joe Biden and the bipartisan leadership of Congress for Israel. Never before has Iran attempted to attack the Israeli homeland from its own soil, and an unprecedented red line has now been crossed by Iran. Our thoughts are with the people of Israel, who are now confronting this dangerous attack from Iran. DFI-LA Statement re: LACDP's March 2024 Resolution

On March 12, 2024, the Los Angeles County Democratic Party (LACPD) passed a resolution calling for an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. Democrats for Israel Los Angeles calls for the LACDP and the California Democratic Party to acknowledge the continued rape and abuse of female victims and female hostages by Hamas and its allies, both on the day of the October 7, 2023 attack, and during the many months that they have been held in captivity in Gaza. Democrats for Israel is the voice of Los Angeles County's Jewish and Pro-Israel community to the Democratic Party and the voice of the Democratic Party to the Jewish and Pro-Israel community across all the cities of Los Angeles County. 

Founded in 1990 to serve as a bridge between the Democratic Party and the Jewish/Pro-Israel community. Democrats for Israel Los Angeles has two missions -- fighting antisemitism in our party and in society at-large; and supporting Israel in any way that we can. DFI-LA puts on a variety of educational and cultural events each year, some aimed at teaching a new generation of activists about the evils of antisemitism, and other events about current developments in Israel. Above all, Democrats for Israel Los Angeles spreads the word about the rich, multi-ethnic history of the world’s only Jewish country.

We also engage in local and state politics, supporting elected officials and candidates who have demonstrated support for Israel, and who speak out consistently against antisemitism and hate of all types.

Additionally, there are many volunteer opportunities for those who want to stand up for Israel, and who want to join in the fight against hate and antisemitism.
